Construction consultants took a day off for their annual golf tournament. Score another smashing success for tournament Director Lyle Coe as he managed to order up perfect weather, great food and excellent camaraderie for the fourth annual Founders Golf Tournament. This year Westcon was proud to honor two founding members who’s contributions were essential in the starting of the organization.
Walter Gloskowski, a registered civil engineer who specializes in building investigations and building failures has been providing assistance in a multitude of areas to individuals, corporations and city governments, for over 40 years. His unique interests and skills have helped hundreds of people over the years to resolve conflicts and identify true problem areas in need of reconstruction and then guiding them in that reconstruction. Walt has always been one of the most highly respected members of Westcon and one of the “go-to guys” in the group for questions, history and knowledge. His character, knowledge and integrity are what pulled in many members in the initial start-up years.
Bill Kolthoff, a third generation sheet metal contractor is an original Founding member of Westcon and participated as one of the original board members of the organization in 1989. Bill assisted on the bylaws committee and helped recruit new members in the early years. He was known as “Mr. Sheetmetal” within the organization. Bill is not just a local expert, but has traveled extensively throughout the United States on construction industry and technical issues. He has passed on his extensive knowledge to contractors, architects, owners, unions, manufacturers, and governmental bodies, while at the same time gathering knowledge from these groups in the industry.
Lyle added a few new twists and even more fun to the event. The sling shot contest, poker run, casting contest and glass breaking skills kept people in high spirits…and the new “Witches of Westcon” snuck around the course and caused a bit of havoc – and we hope not too much mischief!
